Bettie Page Photographers Intro

Bettie Page Color Photo By Unknown Photographer

The work of many great photographers are in the Bettie Page section showcasing their diverse styles. Some of the photographers are well known while others obscure. Since Bettie Page was photographed by many people, we have a unique opportunity to study many different interpretations; from the fetish girl of Sam Menning to the girl-next-door of Arnold Kovacs. Bettie Page was an uncomplicated woman who represented the desires of the photographer then ultimately the viewer. How an individual decides to interpret that information has been cause for many heated debates but the fact is that Bettie Page was an excellent model who posed for a living whether by herself or under the guide of the photographer. One particular collection that shows Bettie as her true self would be the photographs of Charles West. Charles dated her between 1955 and 1956. He saw her mostly at his friend's parent's house; many times... without clothing... as a seductress.

A few highlights of the Bettie Page section are: The King Of Pin-up Art Amsie, recently discovered Bettie Page photographer and disk jockey Robert Stanton, a mysterious anonymous well-to-do figure photography hobbyist "The Doctor", View-Master photographer Paul Knaut, the great Joseph Hanson and the incomparable Sam Menning! A recent discovery uncovered some of the greatest candid shots of Bettie Page ever taken by camera club photographer Don Baida. Here is a strange little video found on the internet by a me member showing Bettie posing at a camera club session. Most of the material presented in the Bettie Page section is within my possession or has passed through my hands. A good portion came from a huge collection used for making the PRIVATE PEEKS magazines much of it never published. I probably have the largest collection of ORIGINAL Bettie Page negatives and slides many accompanied with copyright ownership.

If you are interested in purchasing an original piece, please ask to see a new scan of the object since many of them have been cleaned-up in Photoshop. Policies.

Bettie Page is very much in demand these days and is more popular now than during her heyday. I was fortunate enough and enjoyed working on many projects with Bettie Page. She was always very sweet and worried if her signature was perfect. Sometimes if Bettie Page wasn't exactly sure of a specific request, I would be lucky enough to get a call directly from her!

The people who took photographs of Bettie Page are enabling future generations their unique perspective of figure photography during a very paranoid time period. Many were persecuted for their work. To this day, many Bettie Page photographers are still afraid and hide what they did. If you are tired of the same old thing and looking for something new, then this is the place for you. me wants to find out who took what photograph, where, when, why, how and then to preserve that history.

Instead of wallowing in the fact that she never became an actress, Bettie Page put a great smile on her face and gave her best effort modeling. It worked! She transcended her modeling career and became an icon. I think the reason why so many people love Bettie Page is because they realize there is a little bit of Bettie inside us all. We can only do our best and that's all we can do. Member info.
